We-Learning: Social Software and E-Learning

What happens when students start using IM in class to discuss what the teacher is presenting?
This article looks at the so-called social software and raises some questions about what it means for e-learning. Software discussed includes Instant messaging, collaborative software and blogs.
Collaborative blogs could easily replace asynchronous discussion boards.
Learners could be asked to create their own blogs as part of their learning.
